TSU student James Jones Jr., 21, died as a result of a car accident in Chattanooga, Tenn. The crash involved three vehicles on Highway 153 early in the morning on June, 10. Jones was pronounced dead upon arrival to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Recently, APSU's annual funding was reduced by six percent, or $2,188,000. This reduction was made due to less higher education funding from the state.

In response to these budget cuts, the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) unanimously approved tuition hikes for all six of the system's universities June 26.

Every semester, students empty their bank accounts or take out loans to pay MTSU thousands of dollars to attend school. Most students do not ask where their money is going because it's usually assumed that you're paying for a college education.

However, now that there is a 6 percent tuition increase for the upcoming school year, students are starting to wonder, where does my tuition go?

"I assume my tuition goes to classes and education but I never really questioned the issue because I just knew to go to college you have to pay," says Kyla Holder, a sophomore interior design major.

Friday night was quite the letdown.

I met up with some high-school friends from Alabama at an all-night diner. I'd hardly seen any of them in the last few years, but now they're all finishing engineering degrees.

For the most part I'm happy for them, but I found myself shocked by some of their politics.

Until Fourth of July weekend, the state of the American music festival had come into serious question.

Rampant arrests plagued the recent Bonnaroo festival. Thievery ran throughout the fairgrounds, and no less than ten vehicles were carjacked from 'Roo. And, of course who could forget the infamous Kanye West set, almost a day late and definitely a dollar short.
